Answer-Key Angels

A great childhood doesn't always occur in every household. Ideally, there are two healthy stable parents driving - guiding - and nurturing a household of children to a life a success - balance - and happiness. But that rarely happens.

What often happens is either both parents are working, one or both is laid off, there are heated debates about money or the lack thereof, or one or neither of the parents grew up in a healthy  household to model good parental behaviour - never mind modeling money management. So what chance does a child have living in a single parent household, foster care, or dysfuntional family unit where there is never enough money? Ae there additional resources to support them?

What type of effect do urban programs such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America , The Fresh Air FundBig Brothers Big Sisters   or Urban League  really have on urban youth? Did they really impact the lives of celebs such as LeBron James, Denzel Washington, Bill Cosby and Eddie Murphy? According to each of them, these programs do make a difference.

Even my own brother being an only male child in our two working parent household developed self esteem via the Boys & Girls Clubs of America (then Boys Club of America) and eventually went on to receive 3 Ivy League degrees - became a lawyer and VP of a Venture Capital firm in New York City. There are countless others of every ethnic origin and there can be more with your help.

As the United States and world economy continues to transition from an Industrial Society to an Information Society, more teens need preparation on how to save for retirement. The old addage of graduate - find a job and stick with it until you're sixty-five has long past. Higher education has not even been able to kep up with the expedient transition.

However, today's youth are more technology savvy and open to change than their predecessors. That's why we want to see them armed with the right tools to make it regardless of their start in life and you can help. How? Be an Answer-Key Angel!
